Divided Souls Productions taps into this sound with their inaugural offering for Maschine Masters. The production crew teams up with Grammy-winning guitarist/bassist Corey “Funkafangaz” Stoot (Scarface, UGK, Juvenile, Bahamadia, and more) to deliver 12 Bit Soul presents: Lo-Fi & Funky.
It goes without saying that the word “funk” has come to mean many things to many people over time. No longer is it simply confined to a sub-genre of R&B, but the evolution of the word has taken a more universal meaning for the “groove” or “soul” found in any music, Hip Hop being no exception. Comb the files of your favorites, those classic records that induce a head nodding experience and more than likely you’re feeling the “funk.”
