Videobox allows you to quickly and easily download Flash video from most all of the popular video sites on the internet. Videobox will convert the video into a native Quicktime format so it's ready to view on your Mac, iPod, iPhone or iTunes.
Videobox already downloads HD videos by default from Youtube when available, but he didn’t give you the chance to select if you wanted Full HD, it just decided by itself given the available, estimated bandwidth. But now you can force Full HD download (it looks great in retina display!). Just drop the Youtube url as usual, and when you select your conversion settings, “Mac Viewing” “MP4″ and “1920×1080″ (Full HD) as Video Size. Videobox will automatically download a Full HD video, the highest available audio quality, and merge them for you in your default output location, after a small conversion process. I didn’t use my copy of VideoBox much UNTIL I discovered that it can convert Elgato EyeTV MPEG2 files (QuickTime Pro cannot). If ever Easy VHS to DVD crashes while converting a recording (It records in MPEG2 format) – the ONLY App I have that CAN convert the leftover MPEG2 files to QuickTime MOV is VideoBox. Requirements OS X 10.6 or later (OS X 10.7 or later recommended) Home Page - http://www.tastyapps.com/videobox/
