Aeonik Mono Font Family
Our goal in creating Aeonik Mono was to pick up on the features that make the original Aeonik a beloved choice amongst designers and transform it into a true monospaced type family for use in graphic design projects. As is customary for a fixed pitched font, each character in Aeonik Mono fits in a box of the same width, in our case, 620 units.
Aeonik Mono is available in 7 weights, ranging from Thin to Black. The extensive language support (Latin Extended A) allows type setting in most European languages written with the Latin script. Just like the original Aeonik, the new Aeonik Mono features closed apertures with perpendicular stroke endings, clear letter shapes, and a clean Swiss Grotesque feel. Long serifs have been added to letters like ‘i’, ‘j’, ‘l’, and ‘I’ to help fill out the space. Many might know Aeonik for its numerous stylistic sets. Aeonik Mono and Fono bring their own twist to this game, featuring many different boxed and circled numerals, as well as alternates for the characters ‘a’, ‘f’, ‘y’, ‘J’ ‘Q’, ‘7’ and ‘&’. In addition to these, there are three sets of arrows included: simple small arrows; simple uppercase arrows; and navigational arrows. Aeonik Mono can easily be used side by side with the classical Aeonik in projects that require a more complex or creative typographical hierarchy. The many stylistic sets, case alternates, fractions, and all types of numerals will help the user adapt Aeonik Mono’s “voice” to suit any project.
